COMPRESSORS
Selecting a Bostitch
®
Compressor
After spending months in the field working with
professional contractors like you, our mission
was clear: Develop a line of air compressors
that deliver durability, performance and convenience.
Roll cages and skid plates inspired by off-road
trucks, as well as heavier gauge steel base
plates and recessed components, combine to
protect Bostitch
®
compressors on even the
most hostile job sites.
Patented pump technology, large pumps
and high efficiency motors deliver quality
performance in even the most demanding applications.
Integrated control panels, multiple air outlets
and pull-cord style drain cocks offer the
professional user the ultimate in air
compressor convenience.

Tips to Improve Your Bostitch
®
Compressor Performance
44
Air
For best results, use regulated
air and never use more air
pressure than is necessary to
drive the fasteners. Most
Bostitch
®
tools operate best
between 80 and 95 PSI. If the
fastener sets well at 85 PSI, use
that pressure. Keep the airline
as short as possible to prevent a
pressure drop from the Bostitch
®
compressor to the tool.
Water
As Bostitch
®
Compressors
operate, they generate
condensation which needs to be
drained regularly. In very hot
humid weather, you may need to
drain it several times each day.
In dryer climates, once per day
should be enough. Open the
drain valves near the bottom of
the tank while the tank is under
pressure to relieve moisture.
Then close the valve carefully.
Never twist the valves with pliers.
Just tighten them until the air
stops leaking.
Electric
Don’t use an extension cord to
run your Bostitch
®
compressor if
at all possible, instead use a
longer airline. If you must
operate your Bostitch
®
compressor in a remote area,
use a heavy gauge extension
cord as follows.
25 Feet - Use 14-Gauge Cord
50 Feet - Use 12-Gauge Cord
100 Feet - Use 10-Gauge Cord
150 Feet - Use 8-Gauge Cord
Oil
Put a few drops of oil in the air
fitting of your Bostitch
®
Tool
in the morning and then again
in the afternoon. That’s all you
need to keep your Bostitch
®
Tool running smoothly. And,
always use only approved
non-detergent oil that comes
with your Bostitch
®
Tool.
Not all Bostitch
®
products
require oil.
